This review is based from an article that i read about the glory days of Islam empire.
People have their own glory, but there is sometimes that we fell downhill. It’s the cycle of life. There is time we are at the top, people look up to us and respect us, but there are times that people throw shade and ignore us in the time when we are week and poor. Just like the Islamic civilization. Back in the days when Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h, rule the Arabian peninsula, Muslims were at their glory days. Even after the demise of the Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h, the legacy still continues to flourish in the time of his successors especially in the Ummayads and Abbasids. Unfortunately, life is like a cycle. At the end of the reign of Ummayads and Abbasids, Islamic civilization started to going downhill. The European took a move. The European was amazed with the Muslims. How can a tiny tribe change everything. So they learn and used what is in the past, the tools that make tiny tribe won. What did we do in our glory days? Based on the article, Muslims only have one God, and that is Allah and that God is the only one deserve obedience. Not only that, the universality, moderate rationalism, tolerance and balanced civilization were the factor for Muslims recognition. But what make the civilization fall? Yes sometimes we are at the bottom, but until now, Muslims still live poorly not like in the glory days.
The article open my eyes, because it helps in realizing where did we do wrong. Muslims always speak about the factors why we win, like the story of Sultan Muhammad Al-Fateh, but we never learn the opposite of it. Why did we lose and why do the Islamic civilization is still losing? Why Muslims are labelled as terrorists? Why does non-Muslims are brilliant and richer then us? Why Muslims doesn’t want to be like the old days? The days when Muslims overawe every people and religions.
